the mask of Gurg

Hello! I was directed over here to post updates regarding my progress. It's been a tough journey as my first two attempts failed miserably. I started off trying Monster Clay which is an oil-base clay, however the first try at molding failed as the plaster stuck to the armature thus leaving me no cho...

Re: Gurg

I don't know where to post updates regarding my mask so I guess I'll just leave the updates here for now. So that sculpt I posted awhile ago did not work out. The mold failed and I started from scratch using water-based clay. Sealed it with glossy spray paint and vaseline. Pulled my first successful...

yes it's coming along! I look forward to seeing it in latex, as all the impurities of the sculpt will give the finished latex pull more character I think.

Re: Gurg

This character really strikes a chord with me. I would like more chainmail in my overall costume

Re: Gurg

Hey thanks for those links! I'm a little over 1.8 meters. Tall and slender. I've always liked the goblin types as opposed to the larger more brutish orcs, if you know what I mean. Think the bickering hungry lads in The Two Towers, but with a taste for class.

Re: Gurg

Mmmh iam not that fan of chainmail coif. At this point i made just fullface masks. But with a half mask i would prefer a hood or a fools cap. At least a balaclava with glued hair on it. Fake hair or horse tail. And the Basics in germany for an Orc are a long tunic (to the middle of your legs) with ...

Re: Gurg

I have some leftover plaster so I'll most likely be going that route. What is your best advice for putting together armor and clothes? Since I am making a half mask I would love to use a chainmail coif with a kettle helm over it to hide the back of my head

Re: Gurg

Ah interessting face modell (the white part) is it made from plaster? And wich modelling stuff youre using? I prefer plastilin/plasticine The armature is a David Mosher FX half mask sculpting form made of resin and foam. I am using Monster Clay on top of it, as it is oil based and can be re-used. h...

Re: Gurg

Hello amd welcome in the dirt. Iam very Interessted in your sculpting pictures. Nice nickname. Hope it should remind us of Ghostbusters ;D Many thanks! The sculpt is in it's very early stages right now so there's not much to show except lumps of clay on a bust. I'm hoping to make more headway this ...

Seeking as much information as possible in regards to how to put together a "proper" Orc kit. I was directed here by a fellow on Reddit. I've already started to sculpt the face and would love more direction! Thank you!
