Well, I made it safe back to texas. Now it's time to find myself a nice Larp group.

So how do I go about blending the mask to my face without lines showing? I know some use facial hair around the mouth which seems to work well. Is there another method? What about the top of the head and around the ears?

I'm not too familiar with the making process of masks, so you should ask someone like Sharruk or Bolgoth.
Maybe they can help, maybe they can even do a mask for you.

And now I am back in Iraq.
I wonder if anyone still follows these posts. I can see that there are quite alot after my last post.
I never did get very involved in the group back home, our time home was cut short by around six months, so things just became too busy. i have kept with my armour-making hobby this tour, however. I've begun cutting apart old Army boots to make leather scale armour. I'll post some pictures later. I'm glad that I found this site again.

Re:Word of the Orks has come to America
Good Luck in Iraq...
Just try to remember the german word for Orccamp "Orklager" and add an ".org" behind it..
I can image it is very difficult to find a Larp group in US.. not only because the "Live action Role Play" is much different over there and contains mostly fighting and less Roleplay. (as far as i know)
But maybe in Iraq its better ;-)
I had an customer on the phone here at fedex a week ago.. and she wanted to send an "chainmail" to iraq because someone ordered it from there... maybe there is..
a.) a little Larp community or
b.) hard knife fightings
I dont know.
If you have questions .. dont hasitate to ask for help or translation in english.
so long

Re:Word of the Orks has come to America
It is probably someone who LARPs, or for a display. Many of the units here are called things like "Knights" or "Warlords" and that kind of thing.
No LARP here in Iraq though. Even if there was the opportunity, we all know better. It is very looked-down on in the States, even more so in the military. You can find some people who do it, but it is kept pretty quiet. That is why I didn't go to the group that was just outside the base, but instead to a nearby city. It would affect my job if people knew, which is really too bad.

Well thats said but we understand..
I think there is no better way for you than finish your job there and visit the "drachenfest" (www.drachenfest.info) and visit our yearly Orccamp in the summer.

I suspect you are correct. It may take some time for me to get there, but it should be worth it.
And Americans are strange. Everyone is free to be independent and do what they wish...as long as it is something that everybody else approves of. Not everybody thinks this way, but there are enough people in control to make life difficult.
But on to pictures!
As promised, here are the pictures of my current project. I'm turning old Army Boots into scales for armour:

My tusks:

And just some other projects from my last tour
