Seeking as much information as possible in regards to how to put together a "proper" Orc kit. I was directed here by a fellow on Reddit. I've already started to sculpt the face and would love more direction! Thank you!

Many thanks! The sculpt is in it's very early stages right now so there's not much to show except lumps of clay on a bust. I'm hoping to make more headway this weekend. Also I apologize for not speaking Deutsch! The individual who recommended this site to me said that Deutsch was not necessary!

The armature is a David Mosher FX half mask sculpting form made of resin and foam. I am using Monster Clay on top of it, as it is oil based and can be re-used.

Ah thats funny, that you can buy a bust where you can sculpting on. Why you dont use an imprint of your own face? So the mask could fit perfectly.

Custom Work. Made to measure

;D comprehendsiply

And how do you make the mask! Do you use plaster or silicone for a mold or do you want to use an airbrush Machine an spray the latex directly on the sculpt?

I have some leftover plaster so I'll most likely be going that route. What is your best advice for putting together armor and clothes? Since I am making a half mask I would love to use a chainmail coif with a kettle helm over it to hide the back of my head

Mmmh iam not that fan of chainmail coif.

At this point i made just fullface masks. But with a half mask i would prefer a hood or a fools cap. At least a balaclava with glued hair on it. Fake hair or horse tail.

And the Basics in germany for an Orc are a long tunic (to the middle of your legs) with long arms, and a short tunic with short arms over it.the upper Tunic could be verycvery roughed up. Than a kind of trousers like bloomers or some kind of larp trousers. You could wear an other very roughed up one over it.

Orcs are like Onions. They've got layers. ;D

Yes I've heard that layers tip before. I think any costume looks great with layers! Makes for a more intriguing character!

I was considering attaching the mask to a balaclava, maybe adding a little bit of hair here and there along with some sort of chainmail around the neck as I've always loved the look of rusted/old mail with a character such as an orc. I figured a kettle helmet would fit nicely with something like that. Then again I'm just a sucker for classic Medieval helmets.

Hey thanks for those links! I'm a little over 1.8 meters. Tall and slender. I've always liked the goblin types as opposed to the larger more brutish orcs, if you know what I mean. Think the bickering hungry lads in The Two Towers, but with a taste for class.
